John Denison is an award-winning broadcast journalist who has been a mainstay of the Monroe-El Dorado television market since 1981. He is among the longest-serving prime-time news anchors in Louisiana.
John anchors weekday primetime newscasts for KNOE-TV, the CBS affiliate in Monroe, and is Managing Editor.
He also has worked as News Director of KTVE-TV, the NBC affiliate in El Dorado-Monroe, and KRMD Radio in Shreveport.
Among John’s honors are the duPont-Columbia Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism, the Edward R. Murrow Award by the Radio-Television News Directors Association for Best Newscast, and the Communicator Award from the Louisiana Association of Educators. He is the receipient of numerous Associated Press Broadcasters awards and is past president of the Louisiana AP Broadcasters.
His non-profit work includes serving as Communications Director of Crisis Intervention of Houston, Inc.
Volunteer affiliations include membership on the boards of: The Center for Children and Families/CASA of Northeast Louisiana, Friends of Louisiana Public Broadcasting, KEDM-FM Public Radio, The Twin City Ballet Company, Go Care HIV/AIDS Resources, The G.B. Cooley House Foundation, Bering-Omega Community Services of Houston, and Friends of the Monroe Civic Center Theater.
The DeSoto Parish native is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University.
